Our New Venture - BHARJARI BHOJANA

Bharjari Bhojana restaurant located in the one of the busy shopping streets of Bangalore, Sampige Road. To many Bangaloreans, Malleshwaram is an emotion with bundle of memories to cherish right from its inception in 1900’s. Malleshwaram, being one of the uptown localities feels very warm to anyone the moment they hear about it. At first, when we went to visit the place it was a bare empty shell and the owner just had the thought to serve super delicious, heart touching and desi food to everyone here, They had this vision to serve authentic south Indian food on a plantain leaf with full of love.

Talking to them and running around the locality we analysed the pulse of people, spoke to couple of people and owner and his team who were highly energetic and decided on the restaurant styling and interiors. This set up is for ‘Celebration of South Indian Food’, drawing ethnic and native styles from every region. We were clear to give the ambience of warm and old Malleshwaram Villas through the elements of complete south India. The Mighty entrance door and frame is from Chettinad Villa, Main Entrance wall paint resonates the coastal tropical beauty of the konkan and backwaters region.

The central Mantapa space is for the events or celebration of music and making memories, draws inspiration from the Mysore region. This vast space reminds the ‘Thotti mane’ from rural areas also, and floor tiles with vivid patterns and colours reminds one of the Athangudi region. Ceiling rafters with thatch reminds of the village houses in the south Indian region. Overall, its ‘Celebration of South Indian Food’, nevertheless enjoying North Indian Food and savouring its flavours in this setting is an experience. And we were happy to achieve the ideation.
